White as Snow
Over the last 14 days we've received close to five feet of snow in Summit County. The ski resorts are bustling as we are enjoying some of the best ski conditions in the last few years.
There are so many truths that are illustrated by nature. One of them is the impact God's grace has on our lives. One of those truth is demonstrate by the complete change in landscape that happens with it snows.
“Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool." - Isaiah 1:18.
After the first few snows have come and gone, the roads and more urban areas begin to look "dirty". Snowplows not only moved the snow, but the dirt and litter, too. After the snows begin to melt, all the other stuff becomes visible and starts to make things look unkempt.
Ah, but then five feet of snow falls. Instantly, the landscape becomes a white, glistening winter wonderland! That's how God's grace works. In the passage of scripture above, God starts by extending an invitation, "Hey! Let's talk about things. Yeah, you've made some mistakes and there are things in your life you're not proud of. But if you'll let me, I'll clean you up like a fresh fallen snow."
Unlike God's grace, a fresh snow only covers the dirt and litter again. God's grace is able to remove the dirt and litter from your life - completely."
