Big Winter Storms Bring More Than Snow
I love living in Summit County - especially during the winter. We live for the storm that's coming in today. It's been a few years since we had a good "dumper" like this one. It's Thursday morning. The snow is coming down and we've picked up about 6" so far. (The forecast calls for 18"-36"; we don't take forecasts too seriously.)
A lot of the people at Abundant Life Church are long-time locals. They remember when there was no I-70, no Tunnels, no Dillon Dam. They helped build the ski areas we enjoy so much. That's one of the things that makes our church so rich - the depth and experiences of the people who make up our church family. We are used to storms like this.
Another thing we like about these big storms is all the people it brings out to ski or ride in Summit County. We see guests from Michigan, Wisconsin, Texas, Georgia, Brazil - too many places to name. Each Sunday when our out-of-town guests joins us for worship, I'm reminded how big and diverse the Body of Christ is. Our visitors remind us we are part of something bigger!
If you are visiting Summit County this weekend, the weekend of what promises to be EPIC ski conditions - we invite you to worship with us. You can expect a warm welcome, an inspiring service, and plenty of time to get some turns in afterwards!
